BEIJING – April 11, 2022 – Since its grand opening in 2021, Universal Beijing Resort has been providing guests with a one-of-a-kind Minion experience at its Minion Land, including rides, entertainment, dining, and merchandise. Elevating the immersive experience by extending the excitement of the Minion Land to the resort hotels, The Universal Studios Grand Hotel launches 162 Minion-themed rooms based on Illumination’s Despicable Me films, highlighting a tropical paradise décor with mischievous Minions, themed amenities and more fun and surprises around every corner to enhance the guests’ experience. Starting April 11, guests can book their stay in the Minions Room via Universal Beijing Resort official APP, Alibaba Mini Program and WeChat Mini Program. Other booking channels, including Universal Beijing Resort Fliggy Flagship Store and Official Travel Trade Partners including Ctrip, will be available starting April 25. The Universal Studios Grand Hotel Minion Room
With their infectious humor, Illumination’s Minions have earned the love of people around the world with their iconic appearances in the Despicable Me and Minions films. Guests of all ages can enter the fun-filled Minion Land, where they can enjoy a day of fun with hundreds of Minions and iconic rides such as Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and the Loop-Dee-Doop-Dee. Located at the entrance of Universal Studios Beijing, The Universal Studios Grand Hotel welcomes guests to join the Minions on an island paradise in the Minion-themed rooms. Vibrant tropical patterns of bright blues and yellows adorn this space to give off a warm and happy feeling. There are original surfboard headboards with stylish bed scarves and adorable oversized banana pillow lying on the beds in the rooms. Meanwhile, themed amenities like bathrobes, slippers, mugs, and bathroom amenities are also provided in every room. Guest can enjoy an immersive experience with each Minion-themed detail, bringing their colorful world to life.

At The Universal Studios Grand Hotel, guests can purchase a Despicable Me Character Breakfast with the opportunity to meet Gru, his family and lovable Minions while enjoying breakfast. Guests staying at The Universal Studios Grand Hotel or NUO Resort Hotel with valid tickets to Universal Studios Beijing will receive exclusive benefits, including Early Park Admission and exclusive access to the park via entrance at the east wing of The Universal Studios Grand Hotel, making entry to the theme park more convenient. With the Minions excitement now extending from Minion Land to the new Minion-themed rooms, guests of all ages can enjoy a day of fun with hundreds of Minions and immersive rides such as Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. With the newly launched Super Silly Fun Land thematic merchandise, guest can even dress up from head to toe in a colorful, unique and fun style while enjoying their favorite Minion-themed food and beverages.
Alongside the exciting lineup of thematic events and experiences, Universal Beijing Resort will also continue to strengthen and strictly implement a series of Covid-19 prevention measures to create a safe and healthy environment for guests. Measures include health screening for all guests and increased sanitization and disinfection frequency, which includes the complete disinfection and cleaning of the entire resort after daily operations, easy-to-access disinfection and hygiene facilities for guests, frequent reminders to practice social distancing, and more. In accordance with national Covid-19 measures, guests must register on the UBR official app to reserve a time slot before entering the Resort. Guests are also asked to wear face masks, maintain social distancing, and take personal protective measures at all times.
