Beijing, September 16, 2026 — As Universal Beijing Resort approaches the important milestone of its 5th anniversary, the resort confirmed plans to develop two all-new experiences — bringing Asia’s first Fast & Furious-themed indoor thrill ride to the resort and creating a Nighttime Spectacular at the Lagoon. Enhancing Universal Beijing Resort with Two All-New Experiences
Since opening in 2021, Universal Beijing Resort has continued to add to its offerings, drawing on the world-class creative and production capabilities of Universal Destinations & Experiences in themed entertainment to expand the possibilities of its “Infinite Universe.” The two newly announced experiences — the Fast & Furious-themed indoor thrill ride and the Nighttime Spectacular at the Lagoon — build on this ongoing commitment, bringing guests all-new experiences that are more immersive, participatory and imaginative.
Asia’s first Fast & Furious themed indoor thrill ride has been designed specifically for Universal Beijing Resort. The project will take the form of a fully indoor thrill ride, bringing the franchise’s signature chase sequences, action-packed scenes and high-energy atmosphere into a themed ride experience. By seamlessly integrating immersive environments, storytelling and the ride experience itself, the attraction will invite guests to become part of an all-new journey inspired by the franchise’s signature blend of speed, action and cinematic storytelling. The project draws inspiration from Universal Pictures’ $7 billion Fast & Furious franchise, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The eleven films in the film franchise have stoked passion in an ever-expanding global audience, with a new film planned in the coming years.

The other all-new project, the Nighttime Spectacular at the Lagoon, will offer guests a new way to explore the theme park after dark. Located at the heart of Universal Studios Beijing, the Lagoon is an important space connecting several themed lands, as well as a place where guests can pause, gather and shift the pace of their journey. By day, guests explore different stories across the seven themed lands; by night, the Lagoon will become a special gateway connecting these experiences. Through an imaginative blend of light, music, storytelling and live interaction, these immersive stories will come together against the surrounding water and landscape, opening up new possibilities.

Since the start of its “Birthday Month,” the resort has been in full celebration mode, with 5th-anniversary decorations extending the festive atmosphere to every corner of the destination. A series of limited-time experiences and surprise “Easter eggs” have also been introduced, inviting guests to join this celebration from the moment they step into the park. On the day of anniversary gala, set to the melody of Universal Beijing Resort’s 5th-anniversary theme song, “No Boundaries,” the “Infinite Blue Carpet” stretched from Hollywood BLVD. to the Universal Majestic Theatre, creating a path filled with imagination and possibility. The Blue Carpet traced the resort’s evolution over the past five years — from the blockbuster world that welcomed guests when the resort first opened to collaborations with a growing range of IPs and the continuous evolution of seasonal events. Along the way, countless guests have come here in pursuit of what they love, together stepping into the “Infinite Universe.” At this 5th-anniversary moment, each of those journeys came together in a celebration shared by all. Beloved IP characters, invited celebrity guests and park guests gathered on the Blue Carpet to celebrate where different passions and stories meet, where the imaginary worlds are brought to life, and where distinctive experiences continue to evolve, come together and grow within the “Infinite Universe.”
Inside the Universal Majestic Theatre, the 5th-anniversary gala opened with a high-energy celebration of music and dance. As highlights from the past five years unfolded, memorable moments since the resort’s grand opening came back to life through light and visuals — from guests’ smiles and cheers to the partners and Team Members who have shared in the journey. UBR 5th Anniversary Celebration Friend, Ni Ni and Lars Huang took to the stage, while the gala also featured a surprise crossover collaboration: UBR 5th Anniversary Celebration Friend · Universal Pop Great Player Da Zhang Wei joined Universal Pop to co-perform a special new track. Paired with an all-new stage design and refreshed looks, the performance energized the venue. At the high point of the gala, singer Zhou Shen took the stage to perform Universal Beijing Resort’s 5th-anniversary theme song, “No Boundaries,” inviting everyone to embrace who they are and create their own “Infinite” moments.
