All-New Stage Performance Universal’s Nian Show 2024, Gathering a New Way to Celebrate
As the Year of the Dragon begins, Universal Beijing Resort reinvents the Hollywood Amphitheatre into the newly minted Universal’s Chinese New Year Square. Immersed in the lively atmosphere of 'Chinese New Year', the square showcases a spectacular new-year show and a vibrant New Year market, providing guests a new way to celebrate the New Year with family and friends to enjoy the live show, explore the market, take photos and celebrate the New Year with favorite blockbuster characters.
Throughout the event, Universal’s Nian Show 2024 takes the stage at the Hollywood Amphitheatre. This performance features a main stage inspired by traditional Chinese architecture, complete with rising dragon motifs and hanging lanterns. A number of Universal Beijing Resort characters will dress up in specially tailored New Year outfits, integrating with traditional Chinese New Year culture including dragon and lion dances and acrobatics, to present the thrilling Chinese tale of "Conquering the Nian Beast, Celebrating the New Year in Red Hot Style” in the original soundtrack produced by Universal Studios Beijing. During the show, the Illumination’s Minions team up with traditional Chinese drummers to create a festive New Year soundtrack. King Julien, Alex and Gloria from DreamWorks Animation Madagascar sport red costumes and join forces with a group of Chinese traditional dancers for a unique fusion performance. The celebration continues with Po, Tigress, and Mei Mei who join in the Spring Festival fun with wave drums and a diverse dance troupe. Additionally, the original blessing lions from Universal Beijing Resort, "Jixiang Huanhuan" and "Ruyi Qiuqiu", return again. The floral pattern on Jixiang Huanhuan symbolizes beauty and vitality, while the mountain and sea patterns on Ruyi Qiuqiu symbolize broad-mindedness and steadfast character.
