About Universal Beijing Resort

Universal Beijing Resort is a widely anticipated theme park destination featuring several all-new attractions along with the best Universal rides, shows and attractions from around the world – plus specially created experiences designed to reflect China's cultural heritage. The initial phase of Universal Beijing Resort will include the world-renowned theme park – Universal Studios, and Universal CityWalk retail, dining and entertainment complex as well as the first-ever Universal-themed resort hotel and the first Nuo-branded resort hotel of Beijing Tourism Group.

Universal Beijing Resort is owned by Beijing International Resort Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment Co., Ltd. and Universal Parks & Resorts, a business unit of Comcast NBCUniversal.

Approved by the Beijing Municipal Government, Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment Co., Ltd. was founded for the purpose of supporting Universal Beijing Resort in its investment, development, operation and management. Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment Co., Ltd. is owned by five Beijing state-owned companies, including Beijing Tourism Group, one of China's largest tourism companies.

Universal Parks & Resorts, a unit of Comcast NBCUniversal, offers guest around the world highly immersive themed entertainment experiences. Universal's theme parks are known for immersive experiences featuring highly thrilling and technologically advanced film- and television-based attractions. Guests of all ages enjoy encounters and adventures with some of the very popular characters and well-established brands in entertainment. Universal Parks & Resorts currently owns and operates Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Japan and has a license agreement with Universal Studios Singapore.

Universal Studios Hollywood was founded in 1912 by Carl Laemmle, a pioneer of American film. He realized people were fascinated with film-making and began behind-the-scenes set tours in 1915.

Universal Studios Hollywood opened in 1964 and took the experience to a new level by giving the public both a chance to see great film locations and be immersed in cinematic experiences. The world-famous Studio Tour is Universal Studios Hollywood's signature attraction, inviting guests behind the scenes of movie and television production. Guests can also experience thrilling rides and attractions such as Fast & Furious - Supercharged, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and The Simpsons Ride. It also includes Universal Citywalk , an entertainment, shopping and dining complex.

In 1990, Universal Studios Florida opened as Universal's first master-planned theme park – complete with one-of-a-kind rides and attractions. This single park has grown into Universal Orlando Resort, a world-class vacation destination with three theme parks: Universal Studios Florida, Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal's Volcano Bay, a water theme park. It also includes Universal Citywalk and six individually themed on-site hotels. Universal opened its first international park in Osaka, Japan, in 2001. The park became popular immediately and delivered record-breaking attendance in its first year.

Universal Studios Japan features some of Universal's most popular attraction areas including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Minion Park. It also features attraction areas specially designed for Japan, including Universal Wonderland with Sesame Street Fun World and Hello Kitty Fashion Avenue for families with small children.
